While Sleeping is an Android app made by ITmail.dk. In short: the app collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
What stays on your phone
- Your playlists and settings are stored only on your phone.
- Audio files you pick are read from your phone and never uploaded anywhere.
- Audio from links you add is downloaded to the phone's Download/While-Sleeping folder.
When the app uses the internet
- To download audio from a link you added yourself. That request goes to the website the link points to.
- When you tap Try a demo playlist: the app fetches the list of demo tracks and the chosen tracks from while-sleeping.itmail.dk.
Like any website, the servers you download from can see your IP address for the request. While Sleeping itself does not send any information about you or your use of the app.
Permissions
- Notifications: to show playback controls and download progress.
- Internet: only for the downloads described above.
- Storage (Android 9 and older only): to save downloads in the Download folder.
